Action heats up in the Eastern Conference on March 18, as the in-form Ottawa Senators travel to the Washington Capitals.
The Senators have recorded wins in their last two games, and they could close the gap on the top five in the Atlantic Division with a win on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Caps suffered a defeat in their latest outing.
The Washington Capitals will be back in action on Wednesday, as they have home ice advantage against the Senators.
The Caps have struggled for consistency in recent weeks, winning five of their last ten, but suffering four losses in regulation over the same period. Washington come into this home game on Wednesday following a recent defeat, losing in a shootout against the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
However, plenty of confidence can be taken from their record at Capital One Arena this term, having gone 20-11-4.
The Ottawa Senators will be on the road this week after winning back-to-back home clashes over the weekend.
Ottawa were very strong offensively in their latest outing, scoring seven in a dominant win over the San Jose Sharks. Drake Batherson was a standout performer in the success, scoring twice, while Artem Zub ended the night with two assists.
Being back on the road will be no major concern for Travis Green’s team, as the franchise have gone 18-12-4 on their travels so far in 2025-26.
