The Montreal Canadiens will aim to close in on a playoff spot when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets in the NHL on March 26.
The Habs are enjoying a strong season, and confidence levels should be high after winning six of their last ten. Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets are chasing successive wins.
The Montreal Canadiens are just a couple of wins away from securing their spot in the post-season. Martin St. Louis’ team have been competitive throughout the campaign, accumulating an overall record of 38-21-10 in the NHL.
The Habs will also take confidence from their results over their last ten, recording six wins and suffering just three regulation time defeats.
Furthermore, they recorded a second straight win on Tuesday, as they powered to a 5-2 home win against the Carolina Hurricanes. Cole Caufield, Jake Evans, and Ivan Demidov all scored goals in the success.
The Columbus Blue Jackets hold an excellent chance of making the playoffs this season. They come into this game on the road sitting second in the Metropolitan Division after going 38-22-11 this season.
Meanwhile, they have recorded six wins in their last ten, losing just once in regulation across that sequence.
The Blue Jackets showed their character on Tuesday, as they battled back from a goal down to beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 on the road. Damon Severson ended the game with two assists.

There is little to separate these teams based on head-to-head trends. However, the strength of the Habs in home games this term makes them the narrow preference to enhance their playoff credentials.
