Central Division rivals collide in the NHL on Jan 23, as the Dallas Stars host the St. Louis Blues.
Dallas have achieved a consistent season to this point, ensuring that they sit second in the Central Division standings. However, their form has dropped in recent weeks, winning just three of their last ten.
The St. Louis Blues have lost their last two games, and they remain bottom of the Central Division with a 19-23-8 overall record.
The Dallas Stars appear to be the closest challengers to the Colorado Avalanche in the battle for top spot in the Central Division.
Interestingly, only Colorado have accumulated more wins than the Stars in the Western Conference so far this season. The Stars have been one of the best attacking teams, scoring an impressive 169 goals.
However, confidence could be low following a below-par run of form after losing seven of their last ten. But, they did claim a win in their latest game, overcoming the Boston Bruins earlier this week.
The 2025-26 season has been a struggle for the St. Louis Blues, and they remain bottom of the standings at this stage.
They come into this road game with an overall record of 19-23-8, meaning that no side in the Central Division have recorded fewer wins. Defensively, they have shown weakness throughout the campaign, allowing a division-high 171 goals.
Meanwhile, they have also scored the fewest goals of any team in the Western Conference. St. Louis come into this game following defeats in each of their last two.
