Important action in the race for playoff spots in the NHL is set for April 4, as the out-of-form Columbus Blue Jackets host the Winnipeg Jets.
Despite losing their last five, the Blue Jackets remain in a strong position to achieve a post-season position. Meanwhile, the Jets will be aiming to respond following a recent loss.
The next seven days could ultimately decide the fate of Rick Bowness' Columbus Blue Jackets in the NHL in 2025-26. They come into this weekend sitting fourth in the Metropolitan Division, but confidence levels will likely be low after losing their last five.
Defensive improvements must be made ahead of this home game, as the Jackets have allowed ten goals in their last two defeats against the Carolina Hurricanes. However, being back the Nationwide Arena should enhance their chances, as Columbus have gone 20-9-8 in home games this season.

The Winnipeg Jets also sit in a promising position for a playoff spot, but they will be relying on a strong end to the regular season and favors from elsewhere. Winnipeg's form over their last ten has been largely reliable, winning on five occasions.
However, they were below their best in their latest outing after suffering a 3-0 road loss against the Dallas Stars. Road issues have been somewhat of a concern for Scott Arniel this term, with the Jets going 14-17-6 on their travels.
