DATE & TIME
Canes in Eastern Conference Contention
It has been a dominant season to this point for the Carolina Hurricanes, and they will be aiming to extend their Eastern Conference-leading record on Thursday.
The Canes have gone 31-15-4 in the NHL this season, and they have recorded a Metropolitan Division-high of seven wins in their last ten. Confidence levels should also be high after registering wins in their last three.
Last time, they claimed a dramatic late 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres at PNC Arena. Seth Jarvis and Andrei Svechnikov scored the goals in the win.

Blackhawks Hoping for Playoff Finish
Just as it is when assessing the Super Bowl odds and picks, a playoff finish is the dream for all teams in the NHL.
The Chicago Blackhawks appear on course for a challenge this term, despite having a losing overall record, which currently reads 20-22-7. Chicago have won six of their last ten games, but only two teams currently have worse defensive records in the Central Division.
But, the Blackhawks likely would have taken confidence from their recent win against the Winnipeg Jets, with Alex Vlasic registering two assists.

Blackhawks vs. Hurricanes Picks
The Blackhawks have been inconsistent across their last ten games, and they could be vulnerable against an in-form rival this week. Therefore, the logical angle is to side with a win for the Hurricanes when making picks.
