Avalanche Still Leading The Way in Western Conference

Jared Bednar’s Colorado Avalanche have been the dominant team in the Western Conference so far this season, and they will already sense as though they have one foot in the playoffs.

Colorado will be aiming to get back on track this week following a defeat in their latest outing, but they have still won seven of their last ten.

Last time out, they were made to pay for a slow start against the Winnipeg Jets, eventually losing 3-1, with their only goal in response being scored by Martin Necas in the final period.

Penguins Chasing Consistency

Dan Muse is enjoying a solid first season at the Pittsburgh Penguins, and they could be just a few wins away from securing their spot in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh come into this clash following a battling 4-3 win over the Utah Mammoth over the weekend. Egor Chinakov was a standout performer in that win, registering two assists.

However, the Penguins will still be hoping for better consistency at this stage of the season, having won just four of their last ten. Defensively, they will need to improve after allowing 202 goals.
