Inconsistent Leafs Failing to Build Momentum

It has been a frustrating season for fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs, as the team’s form has stuttered throughout the campaign.

A lack of consistency is reflected by their 24-17-9 overall record, while they have also won five of their last ten and suffered three overtime losses over the same period.

The Leafs were last in action earlier this week, as they were beaten in overtime by the Detroit Red Wings. To end this week, Toronto play on back-to-back evenings.

Avalanche Chasing Return to Winning Form

It has been a dominant season in the NHL to this point for the Colorado Avalanche, as they sit top of the Western Conference standings with an impressive 34-5-9 record.

However, it would be a slight concern that three of their five regulation defeats this term have been suffered across their last ten games.

But, their dominant offense still deserves respect, as they are just nine goals away from breaching 200 in 2025-26. Colorado will play on Friday night against the Philadelphia Flyers before travelling to Toronto on Sunday.

Avalanche vs. Maple Leafs Picks

Toronto have won 40% of their previous home games against Colorado, but their poor defensive record could be challenging to overlook on Sunday. Therefore, the advantage is given to the travelling Avalanche.
