The Penguins come into this clash sitting third in the Metropolitan Division after winning four of their last ten. Confidence levels should also be high following a win in their latest outing.
The Wild will also be an incredibly confident team coming into this round after winning each of their last three. But, can they win a fourth game in succession on Friday?
The Pittsburgh Penguins have made an encouraging start to the NHL season after winning ten of their opening 19 games.
However, they have seen their form dip across their last ten, winning just four times and suffering three defeats in regulation.
But, they did get their form back on track in the previous round, beating the Nashville Predators 4-0 in Pittsburgh. Blake Lizotte, Evgeni Malkin, and Parker Wotherspoon all scored goals in the success.
It has been an excellent period in the NHL for the Minnesota Wild, as they have recorded victories in seven of their last ten to move up to fifth in the Central Division.
A highlight of their progress has been evident in recent weeks after winning each of their last three.
Minnesota's most recent victory was achieved via a shootout against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday evening. Brock Faber and Matt Boldy both scored in the victory.
