It has been a professional start to the new season for Spencer Carbery's Washington Capitals.
They come into this clash after winning each of their last three since an opening night loss against the Boston Bruins. Washington was last in action, clinching an overtime success against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Tom Wilson scored in the win, and added two assists. Meanwhile, Aliaksei Protas and Jakob Chychrun also scored.
It has been a damning start to the 2025-26 season for John Hynes and his Minnesota Wild.
They currently sit eighth in the Central Division standings, and they are yet to win a game in regulation time. Meanwhile, they failed to build on a shootout success against the Kings when they were last in action after suffering a 5-2 loss against the Dallas Stars.
Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boidy scored the consolation efforts in the final frame.
