The Stars come into the weekend in fairly reliable form after winning four of their last ten, and suffering just three regulation time defeats over the period.
The Predators have seen their form dip in recent weeks after losing seven of their last ten. Meanwhile, they have registered just three wins over the same period.
There is likely to be increased pressure on the home team this weekend, as the Nashville Predators bid for an important success.
The Preds currently sit sixth in the Central Division, and they have gone 3-5-2 across their last ten. Meanwhile, they will need to improve defensively after allowing 51 goals in the NHL already this term.
The Preds have suffered defeats in overtime on two occasions already this week.
The Dallas Stars have enjoyed a fairly reliable season to this point.
They come into the weekend sitting fourth in the Central Division standings, having gone 7-3-3 across their opening 13 games.
