Two teams in desperate need of a return to form collide in the NHL on Oct 15.
The Ottawa Senators have won once of their opening three games at the start of the new NHL season, and they come into this clash on the road following a heavy home loss against the Nashville Predators.

It has been a challenging start to the new NHL campaign for Lindy Ruff's Buffalo Sabres.
This week's hosts have yet to win a game this season and have fallen to regulation-time losses in each of their opening three. Defensively, they have been poor, allowing ten goals already this term.
Another disappointing defeat was suffered in their latest outing, as they went down 3-1 against the Colorado Avalanche. Tage Thompson scored the only goal in the defeat for the Sabres.
There was hope within the Senators camp after the franchise started the new season with a battling win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
However, that hope has quickly faded following heavy defeats against the Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators.
Across that period, they have allowed ten goals, which includes four in a recent home loss against the Predators. Ottawa's only goal in reply in that defeat was scored in the final frame by Ridly Greig.

Both of these teams will be chasing a response following a run of disappointing defeats. However, the Senators at least have a win under their belt so far this term.
Despite that, the fact that the Sabres have won 55% of their home games against their opponents on Wednesday may be an interesting betting angle.
