The Senators have been in encouraging overall form, winning five of their last ten. However, they must pick themselves up following a recent defeat on Wednesday.
The Vegas Golden Knights will be looking for a return to form following defeats in each of their last two. But, they will have home-ice advantage to aid their chances this week.
Questions will be asked of the Golden Knights in this clash, as they have struggled for form throughout the NHL season to this point.
They come into this round after going 3-3-4 across their last ten, and they have suffered defeats in each of their previous two. It would be a major concern that no team in the Pacific Division have recorded fewer wins than Vegas over the same period.
A response will be expected on Wednesday after the Golden Knights were easily beaten 5-1 by the Utah Mammoth on Monday.

The Ottawa Senators would have been overlooked by many in terms of a playoff push this season.
However, plenty of positives can be taken from their performances so far this term. Ottawa have gone 11-7-4 so far this season, and they have recorded wins in half of their last ten games.
They have also been an incredibly difficult team to beat in regulation, suffering just two defeats in their last ten. However, one of those defeats did come on Monday against the LA Kings.
