Rangers Chasing Consistency
It has been a relatively impressive start to the new NHL season for the NY Rangers.
They come into this clash against the Oilers after going 2-2-0 across the opening week of the season. Impressive victories against the Sabres and Penguins last week saw them build momentum.
However, their offense stuttered in their previous outing after losing 1-0 against the Capitals. Jonathan Quick was excellent despite the defeat, as the goalie made 20 saves from 21 shots.
Oilers Aiming For Successive Wins
The Edmonton Oilers sit third in the Pacific Division at this early stage of the campaign. On the opening night, they were beaten in a shootout by the Calgary Flames.
However, they quickly put that defeat behind them on Saturday to overcome the Canucks. Andrew Mangiapane, Leon Draisaitl, and Noah Philp all scored goals in the 3-1 home win.
Meanwhile, Calvin Pickard made 14 saves on a defensively solid night for the Oilers at Rogers Place.
Oilers vs. Rangers NHL Picks
This will be a difficult game to predict based on the performances of both teams so far this season. However, the Oilers have already demonstrated their defensive reliability in the NHL, limiting the Canucks to just 15 shots on Saturday. Based on that excellent defensive ability, an away win is preferred when making Oilers vs. Rangers picks.
