The Tampa Bay Lightning have quietly gone under the radar so far this season, winning six of their 13 games, and claiming five victories in their previous ten.
Meanwhile, the Golden Knights sit second in the Pacific Division after enjoying a professional start to the campaign.
As expected, it has been business as usual for the Vegas Golden Knights so far this season.
They have accumulated a record of 7-2-3 across their opening 12 games, and they have also recorded six victories in their last ten games. Vegas already have the best defensive record in the Western Conference, and confidence levels should be high following a recent win.
Their defensive quality was evident in the 1-0 success against the Detroit Red Wings, with Ivan Barbashev scoring the only goal of the game in the second period.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will take confidence from their start to the season after accumulating a winning 6-5-2 record.
The Lightning have also excelled defensively, with no team in the Atlantic Division having allowed fewer goals so far this term. However, despite winning five of their last ten, they come into this clash following a recent defeat.
Their latest loss was inflicted on the road against the Colorado Avalanche, as they were edged out by a 3-2 scoreline.
