Two sides that will have a point to prove in the NHL will collide on Dec 18, as the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Los Angeles Kings. Find our picks for the clash here.
The Kings have dropped down the standings in the Pacific Division following a run of three straight defeats. However, a return to winning ways on Thursday could see them get back on track.
The Lightning also bring a recent losing sequence into this clash after losing each of their last two. But, could their home advantage get them back to winning ways?
The Benchmark International Arena has been far from a fortress for the Lightning this season. Tampa have gone 8-7-0 in their home games, and that has been a key reason why they aren’t higher in the current standings.
The Lightning have gone 18-12-3 this term, but their form has been inconsistent over their last ten after winning on just four occasions.
Furthermore, they have suffered defeats in each of their last two, which includes a recent home loss against the Florida Panthers by a 5-2 scoreline this week.

The Los Angeles Kings will also be on a recovery mission this week after losing their last three games. That run of form has seen them drop to fourth in the Pacific Division.
Over their last ten, they have recorded just four victories, and they have suffered three regulation time defeats.
The Kings were easily beaten on the road earlier this week, suffering a 4-1 setback in Dallas at the hands of the Stars. However, their road record does remain impressive, going 10-2-5 this season.

The recent records of these teams will make it hard to make picks this week. However, the Kings have really struggled in recent weeks, while the Lightning at least have an impressive offensive output. It could also be worth noting that Tampa have won 66% of their home games against the Kings.
