The Winnipeg Jets enjoyed an excellent 2024-25 season before their exit in the playoffs at the hands of the Dallas Stars.
Another strong regular season campaign looks like a solid chance this term. The Jets have won two of their last three pre-season games, which includes a dramatic shootout success against the Calgary Flames.
Morale has been boosted within the camp this week, as Kyle Connor committed his future to the franchise after signing a new eight-year deal worth a staggering $96 million.
The LA Kings will be playing their second game of the regular season this weekend. They produced a stunning effort on the opening night, eventually overcoming the Vegas Golden Knights following a shootout.
The Kings raced into a two-goal lead, before being pegged back in the second frame. Goals were spread around in the success, with Quinton Byfield, Andrei Kuzmenko, and Brandt Clarke all netting. Anton Forsberg made 30 saves from 34 shots.
The Kings showed excellent offensive quality in their opening game of the season, but there will be defensive questions to answer this weekend.
Meanwhile, the Jets appear to be one of the best teams in the conference once again this term.
