Eye-catching NHL action is set for Dec 11, as the top two in the Metropolitan Division collide. Both the Capitals and Hurricanes will be chasing a second successive victory.
The Capitals hold the narrow advantage at the top of the division, as they currently sit a point clear of their rivals this Thursday after winning eight of their last ten.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes could move to the summit with a win on the road this week after going 5-4-1 across their last ten in the NHL.
The Washington Capitals will be aiming to stretch their advantage at the top of the Eastern Conference on Thursday.
They come into this clash after going 18-9-3 in the NHL this season, while they have been ultra consistent over their last ten after recording eight wins. The Capitals were excellent in their latest outing, as Aliaksei Protas and Jakob Chychrun scored the goals in a 2-0 home win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Washington have been reliable in home games this season, going 10-5-1 at the Capital One Arena.

It has been a strong start to the season for the Hurricanes, as they sit second in the Eastern Conference standings.
However, Carolina’s consistency is a slight concern ahead of this clash after losing four of their last ten in regulation. But, they should bring confidence into this clash following a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
Eric Robinson and Jordan Martinook both scored efforts in the 4-1 success. The Canes have largely been consistent on the road this season, going 8-4-1.
