It has been a challenging start to the season for both of these sides, and both will already be considered as outside chances of the playoffs.
The Canucks have suffered back-to-back defeats, while the Flames have gone 4-5-1 across their last ten in the NHL.
There will likely be pressure on the home team this weekend, as the Vancouver Canucks bid to snap a two-game losing streak.
The Canucks have now gone 3-5-2 across their last ten. However, they remain in positive overall form this season, winning nine of their 22 games.
Their latest defeat was suffered on home ice on Thursday after suffering a 4-2 loss at the hands of the Dallas Stars.
Calgary's form is yet to catch fire this season, but the Flames do come into this weekend in relatively solid form after winning four of their last ten.
However, it is worth noting that they have also suffered five defeats in regulation over the same period.
Positives will be taken from their defensive record so far this term, but they are the lowest scorers in the Pacific Division. The Flames impressed in their latest outing after recording a 6-2 victory on the road against the Buffalo Sabres.
