Rangers Making Headway in Playoff Challenge

It had been a slow start to the season for the New York Rangers, but they are building momentum in their bid to finish in a playoff spot.

The Rangers have gone 6-2-2 across their last ten in the NHL, but they remain seventh in the Metropolitan Division.

They were last in action over the weekend, recording a dramatic 5-4 overtime success against the Montreal Canadiens. J. T. Miller scored twice in that win, while further efforts were netted by Noah Laba, Will Cuylle, and Artemi Panarin.

Canucks Faltering in Pacific Division

The Vancouver Canucks already appear to be faltering in their push for a playoff spot this season. At present, they sit bottom of the Pacific Division, having gone 3-6-1 across their last ten games.

Meanwhile, they have won just 12 of their 32 games in the NHL this season. But, they do come into this round following a rare win. Their latest outing ended in a 2-1 road success against the New Jersey Devils.

Both of the Vancouver goals in the win were netted in the opening period, with Zeev Buium and Jake DeBrusk finding the net. Building on that success will now be their biggest challenge in the Big Apple.

Canucks vs. Rangers Picks

The Canucks would have built confidence following a win over the weekend against the Devils. However, they have won just 26% of their games at Madison Square Garden. Therefore, the preference has to be for the home team on Tuesday evening.
