The Edmonton Oilers would have had playoff aspirations before the season kicked off. However, those hopes may have dampened slightly after losing three of their opening seven games.
But, progress was evident in their latest outing, as the Oilers battled to an overtime success against the Ottawa Senators.
Despite the eventual win, it would be a slight concern that they allowed a 2-0 advantage to slip. Connor McDavid was once again among the scorers for the Oilers.
It could be argued that the Montreal Canadiens have been one of the surprise packages in the Eastern Conference so far this term.
