The Edmonton Oilers are still aiming to achieve consistency in the NHL, having won four of their last ten.
Defensively, they will need to improve if they are to emerge as a leading playoff contender in the Western Conference, as they have already allowed 39 goals across their 12 games.
The Oilers suffered a disappointing defeat in their latest outing after conceding twice in the final period to lose 4-3 at home to the New York Rangers.
Few would have given the Chicago Blackhawks a chance of making the playoffs this season.
However, they have made a reliable start to the campaign after winning five of their opening eleven games. The Blackhawks have caught the eye offensively, having already netted 36 efforts in the first month of the season.
But, they will be aiming to get back on track this Saturday following a 6-3 road loss against the Winnipeg Jets in their latest outing on Thursday.
