NHL action is set for Nationwide Arena on Thursday, Oct 16, as the in-form Colorado Avalanche travel to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Dean Evason will be disappointed with the start to the season endured by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
This week's hosts currently sit seventh in the Metropolitan Division standings after losing two of their first three games in 2025-26. Their fortunes didn't improve in their latest outing after conceding once in each of the three periods to suffer a 3-2 home loss against the New Jersey Devils.
Dmitri Voronkov and Kirill Marchenko scored the only goals in the defeat for the Blue Jackets.
It has been a contrasting start to the campaign for the Colorado Avalanche, who already sit top of the Central Division standings after winning three of their opening four games.
In fact, their only defeat so far this term was suffered via a shootout against the Dallas Stars. Colorado quickly got their form back on track last time out after registering a 3-1 win on the road against the Buffalo Sabres.
Nathan MacKinnon was in inspired form after scoring twice in the win.
