Rams Continue to Surge

The Rams won their sixth game in a row on Sunday, dominating the Buccaneers in the 34-7 victory. They have emerged as the new Super Bowl favorite with +430 odds to win it. Despite a 9-2 record, Los Angeles is far from clinching their division. The 8-3 Seahawks and 8-4 49ers have kept the pressure up weekly. The Rams will be eyeing this game against the 6-6 Panthers as a good chance to extend their winning streak.

Panthers Fight for Division Lead

Carolina was unable to get going against the 49ers defense in their loss on Monday night. The defeat dropped them to 6-6, though they remain just a half of a game behind the Buccaneers for the lead in the NFC South. The Panthers were once again plagued by the struggles of QB Bryce Young, whose NFL future is beginning to look murky as he approaches the end of his third mediocre season in the league.

Despite how scorching hot the Rams have been, I'd be wary about betting on them to cover this spread. Carolina has a capable defense that should keep the Rams under 30 points. Couple with home field advantage and the Panthers should keep this one within one score for much of the game. I don't expect them to pull off an upset, but take Carolina to at least keep the difference in the single digits at home.
