  • The Lions surged past the struggling Cowboys on Sunday, defeating them by a score of 44-30.
  • Los Angeles earned a blowout win in Arizona, stomping the Cardinals 45-17 to climb to 10-3.
  • These two teams last faced off back on September 8, 2024, in a game that the Lions won 26-20.

The Lions and Rams face off in a matchup between two likely playoff teams in the NFC. Detroit sits in the #8 spot, needing a win to keep up the pace. They'll face an uphill battle in Los Angeles.

Lions Face Challenge in Los Angeles

The Lions dominated the Cowboys on Sunday, taking full advantage of the defensive troubles Dallas has been having. Despite their 8-5 record, Detroit sits in the NFC's 8th spot, out of the current playoff picture. The conference being top-heavy hurts the Lions, but they still control their own destiny. They'll look to continue their offensive momentum in Los Angeles against a Rams defense that will be much tougher.

Rams Look to Stay Atop NFC West

The Rams bounced back last week, thoroughly trouncing the Cardinals in their 45-17 victory. Having now won 7 of their last 8 games, the 10-3 Rams are closing in on clinching a playoff spot. However, they face heavy opposition from the 10-3 Seahawks and 9-4 49ers within the division, applying pressure to continue winning. They will turn to QB Matthew Stafford to continue his sensational play against his former team.

Lions vs Rams NFL Pick

The Jared Goff/Matthew Stafford Bowl takes place again this week, with both teams once again playoff hopefuls. The Rams are favored by 6 points at home, which seems like a well-placed spread. Los Angeles will certainly have the advantage in this one, but Detroit will also enter with an extra level of desperation. Ultimately, I expect the Rams to win this game by about a field goal margin, allowing the Lions to cover.
