The Jaguars and Texans meet this week in a battle between AFC South teams. Jacksonville is hoping to keep pace with the Colts in the division, heading on the road to take on the Texans.

The Jaguars won a competitive game in Las Vegas against the Raiders on Sunday. The offense finally heated up in the 30-29 victory, despite being without several players due to injury. Jacksonville will look to bounce back on defense as well this week against a struggling Texans team. They need to keep winning to stay alive in a brutally competitive AFC Wild Card race. The health of WR Brian Thomas Jr. will be key.

The Texans are allowing just over 15 points per game this season, currently holding the #1 ranked defense in the NFL. Unfortunately, their defensive dominance has not been enough to make for their disastrous offense. As if things couldn't get any worse for Houston, they lost starting QB C.J. Stroud to injury in last week's defeat. With Davis Mills set to start, the Texans will rely on their defense more than ever this week.

The Jaguars and Texans meet this week for the second time this season. Jacksonville won the first matchup at home, 17-10, and is slightly favored in the rematch. Had Stroud been healthy, the Texans may have been the better pick in Houston. Unfortunately, without Stroud the already struggling Texans offense cannot be trusted. Expect the Jaguars to get the win in what should be a low-scoring game.
