The 49ers and Texans face off this week in a key bout. Houston has improved lately, but faces an uphill climb to return to contention. They face a challenge again this week, hosting the 5-2 49ers.

The 49ers continue to win, despite dealing with injuries to notable players such as Brock Purdy, Brandon Aiyuk, and Nick Bosa. It's a testament to the depth of their roster, with RB Christian McCaffrey leading the way. While he is averaging a career-low 3.5 yards per carry, McCaffrey has never been more involved in the passing game. He's currently on pace for his second 1,000 receiving yard season and first in San Francisco.

The Texans dropped to 2-4 last week in their loss to the Seahawks. While the offense continued to be decent but unimpressive, the previously stellar Houston defense had their worst game of the season. It was a tough matchup against the Seahawks in Seattle, but the Texans won't get a break from the NFC West this week either. Back at home, they'll need both the defense and C.J. Stroud to get back on track.

Despite their injuries, San Francisco is 5-2 and has looked far more competitive than the Texans. Expect the 49ers to win this game by a touchdown, making this +1.5 spread an ideal one to bet on, regardless if Brock Purdy or Mac Jones ends up under center on Sunday.
