Texas and Georgia meet this week in what is now a new SEC rivalry. The Bulldogs are favored to continue their winning streak here, but they face a major challenge against the rested Longhorns.

Texas got the week off to rest up from their thrilling battle with Vanderbilt and prepare for this trip to Georgia. QB Arch Manning has been steadily improving over the last few weeks, capped off by a 25-33 for 328 yards and 3 TDs performance against the Commodores. On the other side of the ball, the Longhorns need their defense to bounce back after allowing a whopping 34.5 points per game in the last two weeks.
Georgia improved to 8-1 in their win over Mississippi State last week, holding strong to their spot in the top-5. A win this week would all but lock the Bulldogs into a CFP spot, though one more surprise non-conference challenge against Georgia Tech still awaits them. Georgia's defense has allowed over 25 points per game in the last three weeks, creating a clear area of improvement for them to focus on this week.
Last year's meeting between Texas and Georgia went to overtime, and it's likely to be a similarly close matchup this season. With a combined record of 10-2 in SEC play, both teams are well deserving of their top-10 ranking. The Bulldogs have the advantage of being slightly more complete and playing at home, but their defense isn't as suffocating as years past. The Longhorns should be able to cover the spread.
