We have a tense matchup between Alabama and Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff First Round. This will be a revenge game for Alabama, as they’ll try to avenge their regular-season loss in November. The all-time series is led by the Sooners, with a 5–2–1 record.

Alabama, as usual, has had another successful campaign in 2025, but will have to overcome a tough Oklahoma team to advance. Despite being slight favorites in this game against the Sooners, they already lost to them once this season.

Another factor working against Alabama is that they’re coming off a loss to Georgia, so their momentum isn’t as high as it should be. Their hunger for revenge and desire to move on to the next round will need to be in full swing for them to leave Norman with a win.
Oklahoma deservedly entered the 12-team playoff picture and will now have to host Alabama in the first round. As mentioned earlier, they have already beaten the Crimson Tide this year and hold a two-game win streak against them. They'll need to contain Alabama's offense with their top-notch defense.
The team is led by John Mateer, their QB, who will look to prove to their fan base that he has what it takes to lead the Sooners to glory. Isaiah Sategna will aim to be on the receiving end of those passes and try to increase his touchdown tally this year.
Everyone expects this game to be a tight matchup, especially with visiting Alabama favored by -1.5 on the spread. This projects as a defensive chess match, with a low total of 40.5 on the over/under. The moneyline is -112 for Alabama and -108 for Oklahoma.
