The Big-12 Title Game takes place this week between BYU and Texas Tech. The Red Raiders dominated the Cougars in their previous clash, but face an elevated challenge on a neutral field.

BYU is the lowest-ranked 1-loss team in a power conference, due to a subpar strength of schedule. Sitting at #11, the Cougars will fall out of the CFP field if they lose this game. Only the top-10 spots are secure, with two the automatic bids likely to be ranked below them. If BYU manages to win this game, they'll not only make the CFP, but also earn a first-round bye as one of the highest ranking conference champions.
Texas Tech rose to #4 in the rankings this week, solidifying them into a CFP spot. Even with a loss, the Red Raiders should be safely in the field. That being said, the perks of winning this game are big, with a first-round bye on the line. The Red Raiders are having a sensational year and have outscored opponents 211-36 in their last five games. Texas Tech will look to keep that streak going with their second win over BYU.
BYU and Texas Tech are both seeking their first-ever trip to the College Football Playoff. While the Red Raiders are already safely in the field, BYU needs a win here to make the field. They lost by 19 points on the road against Texas Tech a month ago, but should put up a better fight on a neutral field with so much at stake. Ultimately, Texas Tech will likely overwhelm the Cougars to win, but BYU should be able to cover.
