The BYU Cougars host the Utah Utes in what's known as the Holy War. Utah leads the lifetime series 52-30-4, however, BYU had the last laugh with a slim 1-point victory las time around. BYU has won its last 2 games versus Utah; can they get a 3rd win in a row?

The Utes are favored for this game at -3.5 and will look to give BYU their first season loss. Most importantly, the rivalry dates back to better times for Utah as they have the overall series lead here, despite losing their last two. Utah is currently 11th ranked in Defensive points per game, so they'll need all the help they can get here.
Utah's key players are QB Devon Dampier, who is known for his passing skills as well as on the ground. Just last game against Arizona State, he had 120 rushing yards as well as 3 TDs, making him a threat on any play.
BYU has various factors in their favor, but they need to be careful the pressure doesn't get to them. Being undefeated, having won their last two Holy War rivalry games and playing on their home turf are all points in their favor, but they are coming into this game as underdogs.
One of their biggest strengths is their defensive prowess, as they are ranked 12th in points allowed per game at 14.7. This has a lot to do with DL John Henry Daley, LB Johnathan Hall and DB Jackson Bennee, who all have been exceptional this season.
With Utah coming into the game as visitors and favored by -3.5 on the spread, it makes you think twice. BYU has everything in their favor, but Utah is looking for redemption as well.
For this game, we trust that BYU's recent form will prevail at +3.5 on the spread. Their home field advantage, plus their winning momentum, should be enough. The Holy War will be a battle, and BYU will aim to make it 3 straight wins.
