UConn and St. John's meet this weekend in a clash between the Big East's top two teams. Both are on pace to make the tournament already, but stand to benefit even further from a win in this game.

UConn continues to dominate on a weekly basis, most recently defeating Xavier by 32 points. They remain on pace for a 1-seed in the latest Bracketology projections, despite falling outside the top-5 in a few ranking metrics. The Huskies will aim to prove those metrics wrong in a Quadrant 1 game at #22 St. John's. They'll be aiming to avenge last season's loss to the Red Storm from just under a year ago, leaning on their very capable defense.
St. John's enters this game against UConn projected to receive a 5-seed in the latest Bracketology. That puts them safely in the field but with room to further improve their position in the bracket. The Red Storm hold a 10-1 record in Big East play, solidifying themselves as one of the top teams in the conference. They'll put that to the test against the Huskies, with an opportunity to earn a share of the conference lead with a victory here.
UConn and St. John's clash in this key Big East matchup. St. John's holds the home-court advantage, which should help them quite a bit, but they still face an uphill battle. UConn has looked unbeatable for the past couple of months. It will be interesting to see how the Red Storm's capable offense does against UConn's stifling defense. Ultimately, it likely won't be enough to take down a Huskies team that has won 14 in a row.
