The Super Pit in Denton, Texas will host the Tulane Green Wave and North Texas Mean Green, two American Athletic Conference rivals battling it out to climb up the standings. Most early March Madness predictions have both teams on the outside looking in, so it’s time for them to step up to the plate.

Tulane Banking on Their Guards for WinTulane has won three of its last four games, improving to 15–10 overall. Their conference record isn’t as strong at 6–6, so a win here would be a big boost to their postseason bid. They come in as underdogs in this matchup and the historical series doesn’t favor them, so they’ll need everyone to be aggressive from the start.

The Green Wave have their star player, Rowan Brumbaugh, who leads the team in points, rebounds, and assists — basically a human Swiss Army knife. Their other key guard and playmaker is Asher Woods, who averages 12.5 PPG and knocks down 83% from the free-throw line.
North Texas has won three straight games and sits at 15–11 overall and 6–7 in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). The team definitely has some issues to fix if it wants a chance to improve its March Madness odds in the coming weeks. For example, the offense needs to be more efficient, they’re getting outrebounded by opponents, and they’re shooting just 29.7% from three.
Their leading scorer, Je’Shawn Stevenson, is a high-usage guard but is only shooting 30% from the perimeter. They’ll need to rely heavily on their point guard, David Terrell Jr., who is averaging 12.7 PPG, 4.6 APG, and 1.7 SPG. Their best weapon in this game is their ability to generate steals and force turnovers from their opponents.
North Texas is the favorite for this game and is riding an interesting win streak. They are -6.5 with an over/under of 136.5. The moneyline has Tulane +240 while North Texas is -298.
