Oklahoma Stakes Claim to Top-5 Spot
Oklahoma gets a second chance at a ranked win on Sunday after coming up short against #15 Ole Miss. A win here could preserve their spot in the top-5, though the Sooners face an uphill climb to enter contention for a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Freshman Aaliyah Chavez continues to impress, averaging nearly 21 ppg in her last nine games. Meanwhile, Senior C Raegan Beers has been among the very best players in the country.
Kentucky Seeks Victory Against SEC Rival
Kentucky may have been caught looking ahead to this matchup in their game against Alabama. They scored just 51 points in a sloppy defeat. They return to their home court for this one, hoping to earn a win and put Thursday's loss behind them. Georgia Tech transfer Tonie Morgan has been one of the best passers in the country this season, averaging 9 assists per game. She will be the key to the offense once again in this game.
#5 Oklahoma vs #6 Kentucky NCAAW Pick
This was shaping up to be a highly-anticipated matchup before both teams lost on Thursday. Even so, it remains an important game in SEC play. Kentucky's win over LSU last week helped them vault up the rankings, but they'll be at a disadvantage in this game. Kentucky has the size to match up with Beers down low in Clara Strack, but doesn't have as consistent of an offense. I see Oklahoma wearing them down to win.
