Spartans to Attack with Their Defense
Michigan State is coming off a tough loss against their bitter rivals, so they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways in Minnesota. They are currently 19–3 overall with a 9–2 Big Ten record. Tom Izzo will be looking to continue the hunt for that top spot in the conference, which they recently gave up to the Wolverines.
The Spartans are ranked #10 in the nation, primarily because of their defensive prowess. They are #2 nationally in rebounding margin, out-rebounding opponents by 13.1 boards per game. They are also allowing only 64.4 points per game, while holding opponents to 39.1% shooting from the field. On offense, the team is well-rounded, with four players averaging double figures in scoring.
Golden Gophers to Defend Home Court
Minnesota’s season hasn’t been the best this year; however, one of their main strengths has been their home-court play, with a solid 9–3 record. Overall, they are 10–12, with an even worse 3–8 record in the Big Ten. Their main goal should be to end their lengthy losing streak and get back to winning ways.
The Golden Gophers are led by Cade Tyson’s 19.9 PPG on 50% shooting. They also have Jaylen Crocker-Johnson to help with the load, contributing 13.4 PPG and 6.9 RPG. It will be interesting to see how Minnesota’s offense performs against a top-notch defensive side.
#10 Michigan State vs Minnesota NCAAB Pick
One would think this game will be an easy win for the Spartans, however, Minnesota’s strong home play makes things a bit more balanced. The spread still favors Michigan State -7.5, with an over/under of 131.5. The moneyline is Michigan State -355 and Minnesota +280.
Our pick for this game will be Michigan State on the moneyline at -355. The Spartans’ defense should perform well against Minnesota, especially with the Gophers in such a rut at the moment.
