  • Michigan defeated Texas A&M in a competitive, 91-79, second round clash.
  • Auburn took down a hot Creighton team, beating them by a score of 82-70.
  • This will be the first matchup between these two teams in program history.

Michigan and Auburn face off in a key Sweet 16 matchup. With a trip to the Elite 8 on the line, both teams will be put to the test. Expect this game to be close and come down to the wire.

Michigan Seeks To Topple #1 Auburn

Michigan pulled off the upset against Texas A&M, continuing their momentum from winning the Big-10 title. This game against top-overall seed Auburn is the largest obstacle facing them, but the Wolverines are capable of winning it. Led by Vladislav Goldin, who transferred from FAU with head coach Dusty May, the Wolverines have a top-40 offense and top-15 defense.

Auburn Already Eyeing Up Final Four

Auburn cooled off a bit down the stretch of the regular season, but has since re-exerted their skill as the nation’s very best. They had little trouble in the first two rounds, despite facing a very experienced Creighton team last weekend. The Tigers are led by Johni Broome, who struggled from the field against the Bluejays. Tahaad Pettiford picked up the slack in the win.

Michigan Wolverines vs Auburn Tigers Pick

In original my bracket, I picked Auburn to defeat Michigan in this game. I still believe that is a likelihood, but Michigan’s odds here are too good to pass up. On a 5-game winning streak that includes the Big-10 title game, the Wolverines have a real shot of upsetting a Tigers team that needed the bench to keep them alive against Creighton. Take Michigan to win this matchup.
