The Sixers began the second half with a 13-2 surge to pull ahead 66-59. However, Phoenix tied the game at 68 and led 103-86 at the 9:37 mark in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia trimmed the deficit down the stretch, but there was little doubt about the outcome.
Philadelphia had three players with at least 20 points. VJ Edgecombe paced the offense with 25 points and seven rebounds. He shot 10-for-21 overall and 2-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Houston Aims For Third Straight Victory
After suffering a 20-point loss against OKC, the Rockets have won their last two games. Their recent triumph was a 119-110 victory against the San Antonio Spurs.
Houston trailed by 10 points heading into the final frame. But back-to-back baskets by Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun gave the Rockets a 108-104 lead. Reed Sheppard added two free throws to secure the victory for the home team.
Sengun was one of four players in double figures for the Rockets. He scored 20 points, pulled down 13 rebounds, and handed out nine assists. Sheppard contributed 21 points off the bench.
