The Nuggets led by 13 points after three quarters before LA cut the deficit to five. Thanks to Nikola Jokic, who scored 11 points over a 3:47 stretch, Denver pushed its lead back to 16 on its way to a 13-point win.
Despite being on a minutes restriction (knee), Jokic paced the offense with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. Tim Hardaway Jr. added 22 points, connecting on five of his seven attempts from beyond the arc.
OKC looks to turn things around against Denver
On the other side, the Thunder have dropped three of their previous four contests, including a 123-111 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Oklahoma City trailed by 16 points after the third quarter. Although the Thunder produced their highest scoring output in the final frame (31 points), it was not enough to prevent the Timberwolves from coasting to a 12-point win.
The reigning MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, scored a game-high 30 points, along with eight assists and six rebounds. Chet Holmgren added 15 points and five rebounds for an OKC squad that surrendered 22 made three-pointers.
