This was not an easy win for Denver by any means. The Grizzlies led by four points at the break and went up by eight early in the third. However, the Nuggets closed the period on a 31-13 burst. And after the Grizzlies got within nine early in the fourth, the Nuggets extended their lead to 21 points en route to a double-digit win.
Jamal Murray led eight double-digit scorers with 26 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Nikola Jokic finished with 14 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists, marking his 34th triple-double of the season.
OKC is the league's top team for the second straight season
On the other side, the Thunder have reeled off seven straight wins. This stretch includes a 128-110 victory against the LA Clippers on Wednesday night.
OKC raced out to a 25-point lead at the break. Although the Clippers played better in the second half, scoring 61 points, they never made a significant dent in the deficit.
Chet Holmgren led the way with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists on 10-for-13 shooting from the field. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 20 points and handed out 11 assists. With the win, OKC clinched the best overall record and the West's top seed for the third consecutive season.
