The Hornets led by double digits after the first quarter, but the game went down to the wire. Kon Knueppel made two free throws with 4.1 seconds remaining, and Cooper Flagg's attempt at the buzzer was off the mark, securing the win for Charlotte.
Knueppel scored a team-high 34 points, along with four rebounds and three assists. He shot 8-for-12 from beyond the arc. Brandon Miller added 23 points and collected six rebounds.
San Antonio aims for its third win in four games
On the other side, the Spurs have won two of their last three games. Their recent triumph was a 111-99 victory against the Houston Rockets.
San Antonio trailed by double digits in the first half before rallying to trim the deficit to two points heading into the final frame. And thanks to a 27-13 scoring edge in the fourth quarter, the Spurs coasted to a double-digit win over a Rockets squad that had beaten them eight days ago.
Victor Wembanyama was a force at both ends of the floor. He finished with 28 points, 16 rebounds, and five blocked shots. De'Aaron Fox contributed 18 points, eight assists, and five rebounds.
