Charlotte is the hottest team in the NBA right now, posting wins in each of its last nine games. This stretch includes a 126-119 victory against the Atlanta Hawks.

The teams battled to a 60-60 tie at intermission. However, the Hornets pulled ahead for good, thanks to a 38-30 scoring edge in the third quarter.
All five starters reached double figures for the road team. Miles Bridges paced the offense with 26 points, six rebounds, and five assists on an efficient 10-of-14 effort from the floor. Kon Knueppel contributed 23 points, eight boards, and four dimes.
On the other side, the Pistons have won four of their previous five contests, including a wire-to-wire 118-80 victory against the New York Knicks.
Detroit dominated the first half and led by a 63-42 margin at halftime. And after the break, the Pistons outscored their opponent by a 55-38 margin en route to a 38-point win.
Daniss Jenkins scored a team-high 18 points, along with four rebounds and three assists. Tobias Harris and Isaiah Stewart both added 15 points apiece.
Detroit's defense limited the Knicks to 35 percent shooting overall and 24 percent from beyond the arc.

True, the Hornets are the hottest team in the NBA right now. However, Detroit has won six of the previous eight meetings in this series and is 5-1 in its last six road games. Given the trends, going with the Pistons is the safe play here.
