The Cavaliers surprisingly trailed by 12 points through the first three quarters. But thanks to James Harden and Donovan Mitchell combining for 25 points, Cleveland outscored the Pelicans 35-18 over the final 12 minutes en route to clinching its 44th win of the season.
Mitchell scored a team-high 27 points to go along with seven rebounds. Harden added 20 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds.
Orlando hopes to regroup following a disappointing loss to the Pacers
The Magic have fallen off a bit following a seven-game win streak. They have dropped each of their last five games, including a 128-126 loss to the woeful Indiana Pacers.
Orlando trailed by 12 points in the fourth quarter before trimming the deficit to 128-126 with 28.9 seconds remaining. After Pascal Siakam missed a jumper with 8.4 seconds left to play, he and Jay Huff blocked Paolo Banchero's layup attempt a few seconds later, helping the Pacers snap their 16-game losing streak.
Banchero powered the offense with 39 points, six assists, and four rebounds. Tristan da Silva added 21 points, five assists, and three rebounds.
