Cleveland led by as many as 11 points before the Pistons pulled within one in the fourth quarter. But thanks to a back-breaking 3-pointer from Sam Merrill, the Cavaliers hung on down the stretch.
Jaylon Tyson paced the offense with 22 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Evan Mobley and James Harden contributed 18 points and five rebounds apiece.
Boston welcomed Jayson Tatum back to the rotation in a win over the Mavericks
After a brutal 29-point loss to Charlotte, the Celtics responded with a blowout 120-100 victory against the Dallas Mavericks.
In what was a relatively close game, Boston seized control in the fourth quarter, courtesy of a 30-20 scoring advantage.
Jaylen Brown led the way with 24 points, along with seven rebounds and seven assists. Derrick White added 20 points.
But the story in this one was Jayson Tatum's return to the team's rotation. He finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists in his first NBA game since sustaining a ruptured Achilles injury in last year's playoffs.
