Warriors-Timberwolves Game 2 Recap

The Warriors won the opener convincingly. However, without Curry in the lineup, they were soundly defeated in Game 2, 117-93.

Jimmy Butler III was one of three starters who reached double figures. He scored 17 points, collected seven rebounds, and handed out four assists.

Buddy Hield, who scored 33 and 24 points in his previous two outings, finished with 15 points on 5-of-14 shooting from the floor. Jonathan Kuminga and Trayce Jackson-Davis led the second unit with 18 and 15 points, respectively.

At the other end of the spectrum, Julius Randle had a monster game for the home team. He led the way with 24 points, 11 dimes and seven boards.

Anthony Edwards’ stat line included 20 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Jaden McDaniels chipped in with 16 points, connecting on seven of his 10 shot attempts.

Minnesota set the tone early in this contest, outscoring the Warriors 29-15 in the opening stanza and led 56-39 at the break. Although Golden State got solid contributions from multiple players, the game’s outcome was never in doubt.

Warriors vs Timberwolves Pick: Which Squad Comes Out On Top In Game 3?

Given the absence of its top scorer, it is no surprise that Golden State enters this matchup as a 5.5-point underdog, (per BetOnline). Here are a few betting trends for both sides heading into Game 3.

  • The Warriors are 13-7 straight-up (SU) in their last 20 games.
  • Golden State is 1-6 against the spread in its previous seven home contests.
  • The Timberwolves are 13-3 overall their last 16 outings.
  • Minnesota has covered the spread seven times in its previous nine matchups against Pacific Division opponents.

The Warriors have taken four of the six meetings between these ball clubs this season. But with Curry expected to be out at least another week, the series is Minnesota’s to lose.
