One of the games on Wednesday’s NBA slate features the Minnesota Timberwolves hosting the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of a second-round Western Conference playoff series. Will Minnesota send the opposition home for the summer in our Timberwolves vs Warriors Game 5 pick?

Timberwolves-Warriors Game 4 Recap

The Timberwolves dropped the series opener 99-88. Since that setback, though, they have won three straight, including a 117-110 victory on Monday night. And as a result, they are one win away from a second straight conference finals appearance.

After two straight 24-point outings, Julius Randle led Minnesota with 31 points, five rebounds, and three assists. He shot 11-for-21 from the field and connected on four of his eight attempts from 3-point range.

Anthony Edwards was cooking, as he finished with 30 points, five assists, and four rebounds on 11-for-21 shooting overall and 6-of-11 from beyond the arc.

On the other side of this matchup, Jonathan Kuminga was one of five players who reached double figures. He led the way with 23 points, nearly half of which came from the charity stripe.

Jimmy Butler III and Draymond Green added 14 points each. Buddy Hield and Brandin Podziemski finished with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Minnesota was down by five points in the waning moments of the second quarter before Edwards hit a 3-pointer from 30 feet away, trimming the deficit to 60-58 going into halftime.

Thanks to a 17-0 run, during which Edwards scored 11 points, the Timberwolves outscored Golden State by a decisive 39-17 margin in the third quarter to take an insurmountable 97-77 advantage into the final frame.

Timberwolves vs Warriors Game 5 Pick: Does Minnesota Advance Or Do The Dubs Stay Alive?

On the heels of three straight victories, the Timberwolves enter this matchup as 11-point favorites, according to BetOnline. Here are a few betting trends for both sides looking ahead to Game 5.

  • The Timberwolves are 12-2 straight-up (SU) in their last 14 games against Western Conference foes.
  • Minnesota has covered the spread eight times in its previous 11 outings against Pacific Division opponents.
  • The Warriors are 9-3 in their last 12 road contests.
  • Golden State is 5-2 against the spread in its previous seven matchups against the Timberwolves.

Golden State won three of four regular-season games, while Minnesota has won three of the four postseason contests between these franchises.

The Warriors will put up an admirable fight. But without Curry in the lineup, look for the Timberwolves to advance, albeit by a slimmer margin than the projected point spread.
