On paper, this contest had the potential to be a tough one for the Thunder. After all, the closest margin of victory during their win streak was a four-point win over the Suns back on Nov. 28.
However, that would not be the case, as OKC jumped out to a 74-48 lead at halftime. It was more of the same in the second half, with OKC winning the scoring battle 64-41 on its way to a 49-point victory.
Four starters reached double figures for the Thunder. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put up a team-high 28 points and handed out eight assists. Chet Holmgren added 24 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
OKC's top-ranked defense held the Suns to 39 percent overall and 32 percent from 3-point range.
San Antonio Looks To Extend Win Streak To Three Games
Following a double-digit loss to Cleveland, the Spurs have won their last two games, including a 132-119 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night.
The Spurs led by 17 points entering the fourth quarter. Although Los Angeles trimmed the deficit to eight points down the stretch, San Antonio didn't let its opponent get any closer the rest of the way.
Stephon Castle was nothing short of spectacular. His final stat line included 30 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists on an efficient 10-of-14 effort from the field. De'Aaron Fox contributed 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
