The Thunder jumped out to an early 10-point lead but that advantage was trimmed to two in the fourth quarter.
After a missed free throw from Julius Randle, Anthony Edwards knocked down a 3-pointer to give Minnesota the lead. Then he grabbed a defensive rebound which resulted in Randle making a pair from the charity stripe.
Edwards capped off his late-game heroics by stealing the ball from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to seal the win for Minnesota.
SGA guided the offense with 35 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Jalen Williams added 16 points and seven rebounds.
Memphis Aims To Bounce Back From Second-Half Collapse Against The Wizards
Memphis secured back-to-back wins against the Clippers and Timberwolves. Unfortunately, that streak ended with a 130-122 setback against the Washington Wizards.
The Grizzlies led by as many as 20 points but failed to close the deal. Washington trailed 119-118 before Alex Sarr hit a crucial 3-pointer, giving the Wizards a 121-119 advantage with 2:16 remaining, and they held on down the stretch.
Santi Aldama, who comes off the bench, put together an impressive performance. He finished with a double-double that included 37 points and 10 rebounds.
Jared Jackson Jr. finished with 22 points and eight boards, while Cam Spencer contributed 19 points and 11 assists.
This marked Washington's first win in Memphis since Jan. 5, 2018.
