After a 5-2 start, San Antonio has produced wins in five of its last seven outings. Their latest triumph was a 111-101 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The teams battled back and forth during most of this contest. Trailing by a point (101-100), Harrison Barnes manufactured a personal 7-0 run, giving the Spurs a six-point advantage with 53.2 seconds left.
San Antonio outscored Memphis 25-14 in the final frame on its way to a double-digit victory. De'Aaron Fox paced the offense with 26 points on 50 percent shooting from the field. Barnes finished with 23 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Following a 4-5 start, the Hawks reeled off five straight victories. Unfortunately, the streak ended with a 120-112 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night.
Atlanta trailed by 14 points late in the third quarter before a pair of free throws from Nickeil Alexander-Walker got the Hawks within a point in the final frame. However, Cade Cunningham responded with a crucial basket, enabling the Pistons to pull away down the stretch.
Jalen Johnson scored a team-high 25 points, along with nine assists, eight rebounds, and three steals. Alexander-Walker added 24 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
