Pistons Seeking Third Consecutive Victory
Following a season-opening loss against the Bulls, Detroit has won two straight, including a 119-113 victory against the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
Detroit got off to a slow start, trailing 33-24 after the first quarter. But a 70-48 scoring edge in the the second and third quarters, propelled the home team to a six-point victory.
Cade Cunningham led the way with 25 ponts and eight assists on 2-for-5 shooting from 3-point range. Jalen Duren added 24 points, connecting on six of his 12 shot attempts and a 12-for-13 effort from the charity stripe.
Cleveland Also Aiming For Third Straight Victory
Like their opponent, the Cavaliers dropped their season-opener before responding with two straight victories. This includes a 118-113 win against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Cleveland led by as many as 18 points in the third quarter before the Bucks rallied to tie the game at 98 with 6:54 left to play. The Cavaliers responded with a 7-0 run, but the Bucks fought back, getting within 114-112 with 4.2 remaining in regulation.
Evan Mobley knocked down two free throws to help secure the five-point win for the Cavaliers. Donovan Mitchell was one of four starters who reached double figures. He finished with 24 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Mobley registered 23 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
