Pacers vs Cavaliers Game 3 Recap

The Pacers produced two road victories against the top-seeded Cavaliers. As expected, though, the Cavaliers played with a sense of urgency in Game 3, rolling to a 126-104 victory to trim the series deficit to 2-1.

Bennedict Mathurin, who comes off the bench, scored a team-high 23 points on 6-of-11 shooting overall and a 3-for-8 effort from 3-point range.

Pascal Siakam added 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Myles Turner finished with 15 points on seven shot attempts.

On the other side of this matchup, Donovan Mitchell picked up where he left off in Game 3. Following his 48-point explosion on Friday night, he torched the Pacers’ defense with 43 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.

Cleveland’s frontcourt duo had solid outings as well. Jarrett Allen scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Evan Mobley contributed 18 points and 13 rebounds.

The Pacers hung tough early on. Through the game’s first 12 minutes, the teams were tied at 32. The Cavaliers broke a 36-36 tie with a 25-4 burst, giving them a 66-45 advantage at the break.

Indiana trimmed the deficit to 11 points in the fourth quarter, but Cleveland would not suffer a late-game collapse this time. First, Mitchell hit a short 13-foot jumper.

He followed that up with a pull-up 3-pointer, then found Max Strus for another three-point basket, enabling the Cavaliers to pull away down the stretch.
