Brooklyn ended another losing streak, defeating the Washington Wizards by a 129-106 margin on Sunday night.
The Nets led by 10 points at the break, but Washington trimmed the deficit to 85-84 late in the third quarter. However, Brooklyn closed out the period on a 9-0 run and outscored the Wizards 35-22 in the final frame, notching their second win of the season.
Michael Porter Jr. had a solid all-around game. He put up 34 points, along with nine rebounds and seven assists on 11-of-18 shooting from the field. Tyrese Martin was a valuable contributor off the bench, finishing with 20 points and four assists in 20 minutes of action.
Following a narrow 102-100 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Celtics have responded with two straight wins. This includes a 121-118 victory over the LA Clippers.
The Celtics held a 14-point advantage at the break, but this game came down to the last few possessions. James Harden knocked down a 3-pointer to get LA within 119-118 with two seconds left.
After Payton Pritchard nailed two free throws, Harden missed a potential tying three-point shot as the final buzzer sounded. Jaylen Brown was the Celtics' top performer. He scored a team-high 33 and collected 13 rebounds. Pritchard added 30 points, three rebounds, and two assists, connecting on eight of his 13 attempts from 3.
